Calling all tuna lovers! This comfort food in a casserole dish is absolutely one of my favorites. When I made this for the first time I pretty much ate everything in the entire casserole dish and wished I had some self-control and saved some for the next day. It's also super easy to make and doesn't require a million pots and pans.
What's in this Tuna Casserole...
My spin on a Tuna Casserole is most likely one you have never seen or eaten before. The ingredients in my casserole are...
- Cavatappi pasta
- Celery
- Chickpeas
- Peas
- All-Purpose Flour
- Water-Packed Canned Tuna
- Mozzarella Cheese
- Avocado
- Milk
- Salt
- Pepper
- Parsely
- Dijon Mustard
- Panko Bread Crumbs
- Paprika
See, definitely not your classic Tuna Casserole. However, I promise you that every bite is a punch of flavor!
Ingredient Swap...
Although it seems like this recipe involves various components, you are not bound to using all of them. For instance...
- Pasta- For this recipe, I use Cavatappi because I am obsessed with that pasta, but you can use ANY type of noodle you want
- Cheese- Mozzarella is definitely my favorite type of cheese that's why I added it in this recipe but you can use Cheddar, Parmesan, Feta, etc. However, you do not need to add cheese in at all!
- Panko Bread Crumbs- The Panko adds an extra crunch on top which in my opinion takes this entire recipe up a notch, but feel free to add another type of bread crumb or none
All of these ingredients pair so well together! Yummm. Be right back going to go make this now!
