How to make Ginger Tea...
Alright, I think you get it, Ginger Tea is amazing in every aspect so let's make it!
- Our first step in this quick and easy process is to of course rinse and scrub off any visible dirt on your ginger root.
- Now, thinly slice your ginger root. There is no correct amount of sliced pieces but the more you slice the more powerful the taste. I like to slice about 6 pieces when I make two cups of tea this way it's not too overpowering but the amazing taste is still strong.
- In a pot over your stove combine the sliced ginger and water. Helpful Hack: I fill a mug/teacup with water then pour it into my pot so I know exactly how much tea I am going to execute.
- Bring the mixture to a simmer (usually takes a few minutes), then once it's there start a timer for 5 minutes (or up to 10 minutes, the longer the time the more pungent it will taste).
- Once your time is up, pour the tea through a strainer (fine sieve) to catch the ginger while it falls into a measuring cup or a mug/teacup. I love to add a slice of lemon in my ginger tea along with honey because it pairs wonderfully with the fiery ginger flavor!
